Megan Booth - Founder and Tutor

About me

Hi, I’m Megan. I’m a qualified primary teacher (QTS) and I currently work in a special school. I’ve worked in education for 13 years, across KS1 and KS2 in mainstream settings, autism specialist provision and SEND.

The reason I love this work is the lightbulb moment. When a child suddenly realises, “I can do this,” it changes everything. For many children with SEND, that moment can take a little longer — but that only makes it more meaningful (and yes, I absolutely celebrate it like it’s a small personal victory).

My approach is relational, child-led and calm. Working in a special school has reinforced that learning starts with feeling safe, understood and predictable. Relationships and communication are at the heart of everything we do — and that includes behaviour. I’m trained in Makaton Levels 1 and 2, safeguarding, and therapeutic behavioural approaches.

At home, I’m mum to our two gorgeous girls and family time is hugely important to us. I love being outdoors and trying new things with them — usually with snacks involved and at least one person asking “Can we do it again?” five minutes in. We don’t get loads of time as a couple, but when we do, Zach and I love a good meal out and a chilled film night (the kind where we’re both asleep before the ending… romantic, I know).

Within The Sensory Booth, you may see me supporting sessions, building resources, or working behind the scenes to help everything run smoothly.
