Zach Booth - Founder and Tutor

About me

I started The Sensory Booth in October 2025, and it’s been a hugely rewarding adventure. What I love most is being able to support children and young people who need a different kind of educational experience — one that is calm, personalised and built around who they are. Seeing pupils make progress in ways that are meaningful for them, and celebrating those individual successes, is the heart of what I do.

Outside of tutoring, I’m a dad to two wonderful girls and I’m married to Megan. We also have a lively working cocker spaniel who occasionally makes a cameo in online sessions and provides his own brand of entertainment (usually at exactly the wrong moment).

I began working in education in 2013 as a teaching assistant supporting children with SEND, mainly within specialist settings. Alongside this, I worked as a support worker for children and young people with SEND in the community. I completed my degree in Applied Educational Studies at the University of Bedfordshire in the evenings, then went on to complete a SCITT and PGCE, gaining QTS in 2018 and beginning my teaching career.

Since then, I’ve worked across local SEND schools, mainstream settings and specialist provision for children with ASD. I’ve also held leadership roles, including being the Designated Teacher for children in care (and previously in care) and leading the primary department. My approach is confidence-first, relational and practical — always aiming to help pupils feel safe, understood and capable, so learning becomes something they can enjoy again.
